Explicit assumptions and supported inputs
Understand the evidence.
Focused guides explain the rules, the edge cases and the checks worth doing before you act.
Include saw kerf in a wood cutting plan
Material removed by a blade is part of the layout.

Rotation is a manufacturing decision, not just a packing trick.

A valid heuristic layout is a starting point for a practical workshop sequence.

Is the sheet count guaranteed minimal?
No. This is a deterministic best-fit guillotine heuristic. It produces a valid layout and states its limits.
Can a grain-sensitive part rotate?
Choose fixed for that row. Free permits 90° rotation, which is marked in the output.
Does it support different sheet sizes in one run?
This version uses one stock size per run. Run separate plans for different stock sizes.
Are coordinates blade-center positions?
No. They mark the start of each kerf strip in original-sheet coordinates. Interpret them with your saw setup.
Can I export offcuts?
Yes. Remaining rectangular offcuts are included in a separate CSV.
